and we were all together like
that weekend we spent all laughing
and talking and remembering
the time when she said

this place and that place
and quoting cartoons
and singing old songs about
motorcycleman and
titties and beer
and one of us would scream
and we'd all scream back
and then laugh and smoke another

to hide from your mom when she came out to get your sister.
with the plastic baseball bat
and the ball she couldn't find
and we got all sparkley
we had glitter on our lips
and our shoes were all on the ground with
our feet being warmed by the sun
and the pictures we took
that we never meant to take with
us and the pole on your front lawn.
and we snuck back in

so we could be together

lock it in our memories to look back on.
